Jess has been a middle school teacher for the past 15 years, volunteering for many committees and events in order to ensure that her students receive the best education possible. She has also been involved in fundraising and charity events for programs working on issues such as homelessness, poverty, and medical concerns.
Strongly believing in the idea that we must “be the change we wish to see in the world,” Jess has always worked hard for to improve the lives of those around her. A love of teaching and the desire to open the eyes of others to the possibilities of life led her to become an advocate for equality and basic human rights
Her years in the educational field have given Jess skills in both the areas of media and technology. She knows the importance of using these to help spread awareness about the millions of enslaved individuals around the world. A proud co-founder of Durga Tree International, Jess is passionate about using her background to educate people about the epidemic that is Modern Day Slavery and believes that together as a global community, we can end slavery in our lifetime.
